SAY Women

findING
A way
forward
Working at the intersection of homeless and sexual abuse, SAY offer future-facing, life-affirming support to young women coming out of the toughest circumstances.
By working closely with the team at SAY, the Optimist team developed a positive new brand idea: find your way forward expressing this core thought in a new arrow device and word mark.
The arrow device sits at the heart of a dynamic visual toolkit, interacting with words, containing images, and appearing as patterned-background, sticker and also a speech bubble. All reflecting the attitude and energy of the SAY community.
We redefined the meaning of the acronym SAY, from “sexually abused young women” to “support and accommodation for young women”. We then expanded out from this positive new platform to include everything else SAY stands for in the lives of the young women who make up their community.
The end result is a bold, audience-centred visual and verbal system, supporting communications at every level of SAY’s public engagement. A clearer brand idea, identity and a more positive conversation for service users and supporters alike.
